AceLight is an ultra lightweight application-layer protocol built on top of the reliable and robust CAN transport layer. It is designed to provide distributed embedded systems with a simple, deterministic, and easy-to-integrate communication framework for parameter-based data exchange between embedded devices. 

AceLight reduces communication to a simple parameter based request/response model with the addition of a broadcast message type. Broadcast messages are delivered to all nodes on the network and are intended for deterministic synchronization events, periodic parameter data transfers and high-priority node events such as fault notifications
